A Weekend of Birthdays (Part 1) - Trip to the Zoo

What a packed and fun weekend!
But it was also very exhausting.
Be prepared for another long and picture-packed post!

~Saturday, 12 July~

Woke up really early on a Sat morning to meet my besties at 9am to make our way to the zoo.
It was my dad's company's family day and we had free tickets.
Just in time to give LY a birthday treat with a trip to the zoo!

N Soph and Yanz kept singing "We're gg to the zoo zoo zoo, how about you you you..."
*faintz*

Soph secretly took a pic of us as we made our way to the entrance.


Well, the weather was really scorching hot and humid!


Anyway yeah I trimmed my hair and cut my fringe.
Just wanted to try out some bangs.
Yeah, sweeping fringe looks better on me..so shall just wait for it to grow a little longer to sweep it to the side.
At least i tried cutting it and satsified my curoisity on how bangs would look on me!
Verdict: I look more like a mouse now.

Yanz was our navigator for that day.
I picked and handed the map over the right person!
She's really good with directions.
Im just plain useless and always get lost.
(I bet Nic is nodding in agreement now.)

Yanz was so excited and so impressed with the tricks the sea lion did,
she let our little yelps and squeals of excitment, coupled with some clapping in awe.
Me, being embarassed that i was sitting with her, kept shooting her 'looks'.
The ppl sitting ard us werent even making any noise!
Wahahaha! That's our darling Yanz for you.


Yanz made me take a couple of pics of these huge white pelicans...
she's gonna make some comic dialogues out of them.
So watch out for this space!


LY: Why are those penguins standing over there? (they were behind the main 'stage' area, like non-performers of the show).
Me: (being crappy as usual) Oh, they are on the reserve team. That's why they are standing on the sidelines.

Me and LY loves giraffes!
So we got excited at the giraffe trams.

LY: Wow! Giraffe tram! Quick! Take picture take picture!
Me: Okok! *fumbling with my camera. Suddenly like cannot switch on. LY made me super gan jiong!*
LY: Faster faster!
Me: OK!!! *Nearly had an heart attack. Jumps into pic with Soph and Yanz*

Hence that explains why i din have a chance to pose in a way that doesnt show how fat my arms are.


We were all super intrigued with the white rhino.
It was threading into muddy grounds and wat looked like a shallow mud pool was actually quite deep!
N i was wondering how can they find fun in a pool of dirty mud?


Suddenly the white rhino let out a little but loud snort/growl,
i was so scared coz i was standing right in front of it!
It gave me a fright, and so i let out a little scream and quickly hid behind Yanz.
N Soph managed to sneakily take a pic of my scaredy moment!
Luckily it wasnt caught on video. Paiseh!

But she's the bday girl. So cannot suan her.

It just reminded me of Master Wu Gui in Kungfu Panda.
Hey pay $5 and you can have an upclose and personal encounter and petting session with the giant turtles!


The giant turtles are really HUGE.
I've nvr seen such huge turtles!



Well, we dun dare to take pics with the real one.
So we took pics with the fake one! haha!




4 hours at the zoo and we are so totally exhausted!
All of them headed home for a rest and a refreshing shower...
while I hurried over to Sentosa to prepare for Livvy's bday party.
I was so so tired...
i was tempted to go home and slp too!=(

A fun and jam-packed weekend awaits me!

I cant wait for this weekend to come!

I will be celebrating 2 persons' birthdays:
- LY's 25th bday and
- Livvy's 3rd bday
Their birthdays fall on the same day - 13th July! =)

My fave friend and my fave kid.

My weekend will be packed with these:
- Zoo
- Sentosa plus dinner party by the beach
- Clubbing
- KTV
- and possibly some shopping

Talking about clubbing...Yanz just sent me this photo she found on the web.
It was taken by a pro photographer when clubbing at Arena and it got posted online.
Well, we were getting our drinks at the bar when suddenly this photographer came and took a shot of us.
Too bad LY was not in the photo coz she went away for awhile.

I love clubbing with you dearies! =)

Baby's Bday Celebration

Baby is so lucky.
He had a 4-day birthday celebration this year.

Starting on 26 June last thurs - his actual bday...

I went to his house early to help his mum take care of the kids.
The girls each drew a birthday card for their beloved Uncle Nic! =)
(I helped the girls out of coz. They dunno how to read write n draw yet.)
I made a 'welcome home' note to stick on his room door as well!



I ordered Renaldo's Apple and Mango strudel instead of the usual bday cake.
He doesnt wanna eat cake.
The strudels are really good! Highly recommended.

The two greedy girls who were super excited about the "cake" and the birthday candles.


We were all dressed in home clothes. Very tak glam i noe...


Almost forgot about Baby Ryan...

They din even wait for Uncle Nic to make a wish!
After singing the bday song, they both quickly bend forward to blow the candles.


I also decorated Baby's bed before he came back to give him a surprise!

Plus my handmade present for him with a self-written poem =)


On Friday, Besties wanted to celebrate Baby's bday for him.
So we went to 'Bliss' for dinner after work, and they gave him a treat!
Bliss is at Punggol Park and it is really a nice place with al fresco dining.
I envy Yanz who was dressed in shorts.
I was in a suit and heels. So hot man!
Totally inappropriate for such heartland al fresco dining.

Our food.
All of them had Black Pepper/Herb-infused Sirloin Steak,
and I had Gratin Steak on hot plate with cheese.
Their steak is really good!
Done just the way i like it - Medium-Well.
Not too hard not too raw.
We had calamari and a bowl of soup each too.


After dinner, we adjorned to Yanz house to hang out and play games!

That's the mogu cushion we bought for Yanz way back.
She still has it! So touched!


Played Dai Dee again and i must say Yanz has improved alot!
She has been secretly practising esp during her trip to Japan where she played in the hotel room.
We added a twist to the game by playing 'Asshole Dai Dee'.

He is the King of Dai Dee. Always win one...not fair!

After that we played mahjong!!!
Taught Yanz and LY how to play coz Yanz only played once before and LY is a newbie to the game.
We used Yanz mini mahjong set and mini mahjong table.
Haha! Super fun!

LY!
I must say her beginner's luck is super good.
N guess who is the loser?
Me! The mahjong teacher!
The students have surpassed their master shifu! Wahahaha!

On Sat, It was my turn to treat Baby!
We went to have buffet dinner at The Line - Shangri La.
Baby just loves eating buffet dinner.
Not me though...fattening!
We set our usual target of eating 7 plates each that night.

This super greedy boy went to buy 3 big cookies from Subway to eat in the afternoon,
when we were supposed to have our buffet dinner in 2 hours.
He ate his fave white chocolate macadamia nut cookie.
